okay, the scrap I posted of the original sketch never uploaded no matter how many times I tried to upload it. Let's see if it's here.
*sigh* Myesh. Here it is, my first attempt in a LONG time to render characters in a fashion at least approaching how they looked in a movie. (Harry Potter really doesn't count, everyone knew what he looked like before the movies, and I vehemently reject the movie design of Remus in my imagination) I used photo references and everything... And I think it came out semidecent, anyway
It's times like these that I envy photorealists and their ability to pack insane amounts of detail into a drawing. I am absolutely horrible at drawing machinery, I've no idea why I drew as much of those blasted mechanical actuators as I did, and after several tries to get the heads right, I thought to myself, "oh, bugger this for a game of soldiers" and decided to fall back on my usual overuse of gestalt Sorry, all...
It's not inked! I decided to try and see if my pencilling was at all colourable, especially with the softer airbrush instead of my usual hard cel-shading. I wanted to preserve the line quality here, as it just made the image all that much cuter... Aren't they just adorable?
As to the image itself, well, a friend and I-- at about 5 in the morning, so you can at least see the cause of such insanity--were talking about what a sweet couple the Octaviuses were and yadda flavin and one thing led to another until we came up with this lovely little domestic scene... I get the feeling the monicker "Doctor Octopus" crossed more minds than just that of that fellow at the Bugle, after all.
Oh Yume...this really IS too cute...ish so beautiful! Your pencilling definently stands to be coloured as is...using the softer airbrush with it really gives it an overall nice touch...it's sketchy and loose, but flows well and adds to the image. They're expressions are simply adorable too...it's all adorable. ADORABLE! AIEEEE!!
Myesh.
Anywho...makes the truth of what happens all that much more tragic. Meh

Across the globe, 27 million men, women, and children live in some form of slavery. That is more people at this moment than in all the centuries of the Atlantic Slave Trade. Something must be done. This contest serves two purposes: Raising awareness about human trafficking and raising funds for the Not For Sale organization.
Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.
